Minerals Species: Shigaite on Calcite.
Location of mineral deposit: N'Chwaning II Mine, Kuruman District, North Cape Province, South Africa.
Description: Many hexagonal platy crystals of shigaite in aggregates up to 6 mm across on translucent gray calcite crystals. The shigaite crystals are lustrous and have iridescent color ranging from yellow to green to red. Looks beautiful under magnification. Rare! No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 30x20x15 mm.
Size of individual crystals: .5-6 mm.
