Location of mineral deposit: Merelani Hills, near Arusha, Tanzania. (*From the TYPE LOCALITY where this mineral was first described.)
Description: Vivid blue transparent wedge-shaped tanzanite crystal (the gem variety of zoisite) that shows excellent color change when viewed from front (blue) and side (violet). The top edge of the crystal has a few minute edge nicks, but has great color.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 22x22x12 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 22 mm.
Price: $750 net (plus shipping).
