Minerals Species: Cassiterite (twinned crystals).
Location of mineral deposit: Emmons Quarry, Greenwood, Oxford County, Maine.
Description: Complex cluster of highly lustrous black cassiterite crystals showing repeated twinning throughout with areas of yellow muscovite-lepidolite mica. Looks beautiful under magnification. Cassiterite, an oxide mineral, is rare in the pegmatites of Maine. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 10x7x5 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-5 mm.
Price: $45 (plus shipping).
