Minerals Species: Elbaite var. Watermelon Tourmaline.
Location of mineral deposit: Santa Rosa Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Description: Terminated crystal of watermelon tourmaline variety of elbaite. The name is due to the pink center surrounded by the green rind. The color zoning is easily visible because the outer green zone is highly transparent (gemmy). The crystal faces are clean and in good condition, the outer edges show minor wear.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 39x11x11 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 39 mm.
Price: $175 (plus shipping).
