Minerals Species: Benitoite* and Neptunite.
Location of mineral deposit: Benitoite Gem Mine, San Benito County, California. (This is the Type Locality for the mineral *) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities.
Description: Exceptionally rich specimen of translucent blue benitoite crystals up to 13 mm across surrounded with contrasting white natrolite plus several prismatic red-black neptunite crystals to 17 mm long. The benitoite fluoresces brightly under UV illumination. Most of the crystals are complete and undamaged, but a few around the periphery are incomplete. Ex. Robert C. Lambert #33.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 11x7.5x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 3-17 mm.
Price: $3500 net (plus shipping).
