Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 41897:

Minerals Species: Calcite with Malachite inclusions.
Location of mineral deposit: Shaba Copper Belt, Democratic Republic of the Congo (Zaire).
Description: Dark green fibrous malachite crystals to 1 mm long overgrown with, and included within, transparent calcite crystals up to 3 mm across. A second generation of translucent yellow calcite crystals to 25 mm long surround the malachite-included calcite. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification. Ex. Robert C. Lambert #347; ex. B. Lipman.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 9x6x5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-25 mm.
