Minerals Species: Corundum var. Ruby.
Location of mineral deposit: Jagdalek, Sorobi, Kopica, Afghanistan.
Description: Translucent ruby crystals, the pink gem variety of the mineral species corundum, with remnants of marble on the rear. The ruby crystals are pseudo octahedral form and in parallel orientation. The crystal faces show crystallization lines on most crystals. Most crystals are complete and undamaged, but a few crystals are incomplete. Ex. Robert C. Lambert #316; acquired in 2000.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 3.5x2.5x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 5-14 mm.
Price: $375 (plus shipping).
