Minerals Species: Hematite on Smoky Quartz.
Location of mineral deposit: Cumbria, England.
Description: A fine specimen of bladed black metallic hematite crystals up to 10 mm across on di-pyramidal Cumberland-habit smoky quartz crystals up to 16 mm across (sometimes mistakenly labeled Beta-Quartz). The bottom shows the quartz grew over botryoidal hematite. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification. Ex. Robert C. Lambert #324; acquired in 1983 from Norm Pellman (1922-2004).
Overall size of mineral specimen: 8x7x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 4-16 mm.
Price: $495 net (plus shipping).
