Minerals Species: Opal var. Crystal Fire Opal (cabochon and rough).
Location of mineral deposit: 570 km north of Addis Ababa, Wello (Wollo), Delanta Plateau, Tigray, Ethiopia.
Description: Large oval cabochon of transparent colorless fire opal with broad brilliant flashes of color from green to pink (internal fire) accompanied by a sample of rough opal from the same deposit mounted in a display box for easy handling. No damage. Cabochon weight 14.20 carats; rough weight 37.17 carats.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 22x16x9 mm cab., 22x20x15.
