Minerals Species: Elbaite Tourmaline with Cookeite*.
Location of mineral deposit: Mount Mica, Paris, Oxford County, Maine. (This is the Type Locality for the mineral *) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities.
Description: Doubly-terminated transparent green elbaite tourmaline crystal 16 mm long with minor cookeite microcrystals on an etched, flat termination that has a distinctly blue color. The opposite termination is shallow three-sided pyramid form. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 16x7x6 mm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 16 mm.
Price: $55 (plus shipping).
