Minerals Species: Barite.
Location of mineral deposit: Cheshire Barytes Mine, Jinny Hill Road, Cheshire, New Haven County, Connecticut.
Description: Transparent colorless bladed barite crystals with chisel-shaped terminations. The barite crystals are large and well crystallized for this old locality that closed in 1871 (most specimens from this mine were opaque white). No damage. Ex. Miller collection ca. 1900.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 8.5x8x2 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 40-80 mm.
