Minerals Species: Fluorite.
Location of mineral deposit: Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois.
Description: Transparent cubic purple fluorite crystals with no matrix attached. The crystal surfaces are composed of microscopic, parallel cubic faces giving the crystals a silky luster. The crystal faces are clean and in good condition, the outer edges show minor wear. Ex. Chas. W. Velte Jr. (1914-1987); ex. D. Shannon (1942-2004).
Overall size of mineral specimen: 4x3.5x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 15-30 mm.
Price: $40 (plus shipping).
