Minerals Species: Almandine Garnet in Rhyolite.
Location of mineral deposit: Garnet Hill, Ely, White Pine County, Nevada.
Description: Pristine crystal of dark red almandine garnet nestled in a 4 cm quartz crystal-lined cavity in pinkish rhyolite. The almandine garnet has classic trapezohedral form, lustrous crystal faces and shows translucency with strong side illumination. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 7x7x5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 13 mm.
Price: $250 (plus shipping).
