Minerals Species: Pyrite in matrix.
Location of mineral deposit: Mina Ampliación a Victoria, Navajún, La Rioja, Spain.
Description: Six perfect cubic crystals of yellow-metallic pyrite in tan clay matrix. The pyrite crystals have sharp edges and smooth faces. Beginners frequently ask how these are made and are amazed that they crystallize perfectly in the clay-like matrix. Though the crystals are clean and in good condition, a few edges show minute nicks upon close inspection, but they are minor compared to the relative size of the specimen.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 8.5x8x7 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 5-19 mm.
Price: $150 (plus shipping).
