Minerals Species: Anorthite var. Labradorite*.
Location of mineral deposit: Nain, Labrador, Newfoundland and Labrador Province, Canada. (This is the Type Locality for the variety *) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities.
Description: Massive labradorite polished on one face to highlight the labradorescence (vivid play of colors when illuminated at certain angles) of a single, zoned labradorite crystal. No damage. Ex. A. Lincoln Sherk, MD. (1890s-1969).
Overall size of mineral specimen: 8x6x6 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 25 mm.
