Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 45695:

Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst.
Location of mineral deposit: Tafelkop, Goboboseb Mountains, 17 miles west of Brandberg Mountain, Erongo region, Namibia.
Description: Transparent single crystal of purple-pink amethyst quartz with lustrous crystal faces and no matrix attached. The amethyst quartz coloration is in a phantom zone in the lower half of the crystal with colorless quartz in the upper half. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 6x4x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 6 cm.
Price: $175 (plus shipping).
