Minerals Species: Axinite-(Fe).
Location of mineral deposit: Bourg d'Oisans, Isère, Rhône-Alpes, France. (This is the Type Locality for the mineral *) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities.
Description: Double-sided plate of lustrous translucent gray-brown axinite-(Fe) crystals with the rear axinite crystals lightly coated with greenish epidote microcrystals. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification. From my personal collection.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 4x3x1 cm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 12 mm.
Price: $48 (plus shipping).
