Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 46036:

Minerals Species: Smithsonite.
Location of mineral deposit: Kelly Mine, Magdalena District, Socorro County, New Mexico.
Description: Translucent blue smithsonite crystals in spherical aggregates to 10 mm diameter. The surfaces of the smithsonite aggregates have a silky luster due to microscopic crystals faces, in parallel orientation, on the surfaces. All crystals are complete and undamaged, except the outer edges where it was attached to surrounding matrix.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 5x4.5x4 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 2-5 mm.
