Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 46205:

Minerals Species: Calcite (Mn-rich).
Location of mineral deposit: El Potosi Mine, Santa Eulalia District, Aquiles Serdan, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Description: Pale-pink transparent calcite crystals with flattened rhombohedral form and silky surface luster. The pink color is caused by manganese impurities (often mislabeled as the obsolete manganocalcite). The calcite fluoresces orange under UV illumination. Though the crystals are clean and in good condition, a few edges show minute nicks upon close inspection, but they are minor compared to the relative size of the specimen. Ex. Bob Holzer (1934-2009) collection.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 30x25x18 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 4-11 mm.
