Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 46372:

Minerals Species: Rutile.
Location of mineral deposit: Parkesburg, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Description: Lustrous rutile crystal with striated prism faces and complex termination. The rutile crystal appears to be black, but is actually translucent dark-red as seen where the edges are thin. This was specimen recovered from an alluvial deposit and the edges show wear, but the crystal form is distinct. Ex. J. Cilen (1916-1997) #19341, originally acquired from Tom Bee.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 13x11x10 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 13 mm.
Price: $38 (plus shipping).
