Minerals Species: Uvite Tourmaline.
Location of mineral deposit: Power's Farm, Pierrepont, St. Lawrence County, New York.
Description: Large lustrous black uvite tourmaline crystals with gray matrix that appears to be calcite and quartz pseudomorphs after diopside. The uvite crystals are complete all around. The Foote labels dates to 1879-1891. The crystal faces are clean and in good condition, the outer edges show minor wear. From my personal collection; ex. A.E. Foote (1846-1895).
Overall size of mineral specimen: 6x6x5.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-45 mm.
Price: $125 (plus shipping).
