Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 70849:

Minerals Species: Pyrite and Quartz.
Location of mineral deposit: (Tsuchiya-Ishizaki Mine?), Hokkaido, Japan.
Description: Elongated cluster of lustrous yellow-metallic pyrite crystals to 6 mm on lustrous transparent colorless quartz crystals to 15 mm. The pyrite crystals are mostly cubic form with pyritohedral edge faces, though some have diploid corner faces. Most crystals are complete and undamaged, but a few crystals have chipped terminations. All of the main crystals are complete and undamaged, but a lesser crystal is incomplete where it contacted surrounding matrix. Ex. Martin Farber collection; acquired from Arnold Goldstein.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 11x8x4 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-15 mm
