Minerals Species: Magnesite on Serpentine.
Location of mineral deposit: Abandoned I-278 highway exit, north of Deere Park, Staten Island, New York City, Richmond County, New York.
Description: Sparkling white magnesite microcrystals coating translucent yellow-green serpentine. From my personal collection; collected ca. 1996.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 4x3x1.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: micro
