Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 72019:

Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst with Calcite overgrowth.
Location of mineral deposit: Veta Madre Mining District, Guanajuato, Mexico.
Description: Plate of transparent purple amethyst quartz crystals to 10 mm with partial overgrowth of lustrous transparent colorless calcite crystals to 3 mm. The amethyst crystals have deeper purple phantom zones internally and the outer faces have a waxy luster. No damage. Collected ca. 1988.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 9x6x3.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 10 mm
Price: $65 (plus shipping).
