Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 72141:

Minerals Species: Azurite partially altered to Malachite.
Location of mineral deposit: Tsumeb Mine, Otavi-Bergland District, Oshikoto, Namibia.
Description: Many lustrous elongated translucent dark-blue azurite crystals that partially altered to fibrous green malachite. If the azurite crystals had fully altered to malachite they would have formed malachite pseudomorphs after azurite. The specimen formed in a cavity with many similar crystals intersecting in many directions resulting in few or no complete terminations. Collected ca. 1985.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 4x3x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 10-25 mm
