| Mineral Species: Wulfenite with Calcite. Location of mineral deposit: Kuruktag Mountains, southeast of Ürümqi, Xinjiang Uygur Region, China. Description: Large specimen of lustrous translucent orange bladed wulfenite crystals to 12 mm with contrasting white calcite completely on one face of matrix. The wulfenite crystals are square bladed form, with truncated corners with zoned surface patterns. Though the crystals are clean and in good condition, a few show damage upon close inspection, but they are minor compared to the relative size of the specimen. Collected ca. 2006.
