Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 80279:

Mineral Species: Quartz.
Location of origin: Elephant Mountain pegmatite prospect, 14km ENE of Greenville, Piscataquis County, Maine.
Description: Lustrous transparent colorless quartz crystals that formed in a cavity in a quartz pegmatite with brown iron oxides on the rear. The quartz crystals are in parallel orientation. This is from a small prospect in northern Maine worked by only a few. The specimen formed in a cavity with many crystals intersecting in all directions. Most crystals are complete except in areas where they intersected adjacent crystals in the cavity. Collected by Gabe Stirniman (1971-2020).
Overall size: 8.5x6x4 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 4-12 mm
Price: $36 (plus shipping).
