Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 80631:

Mineral Species: Cassiterite (twinned crystals).
Location of origin: Xuebaoding Mountain near Pingwu, Sichuan Province, China.
Description: Sparkling cluster crystallized all around with twinned lustrous black cassiterite crystals to 20 mm with minor muscovite crystals to 2 mm in crevices. When illuminated from the rear the cassiterite shows translucent brown color in the thin edges. Complete and undamaged except the contact where it was formerly attached to surrounding matrix. Ex. Miller #M2353; ex. Betts #55346; collected ca. 1996.
Overall size: 6x4x3.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 3-15 mm
