Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 80741:

Mineral Species: Corundum var. Ruby.
Location of origin: Winza, Mpwapwa District, Dodoma, Tanzania.
Description: Lustrous translucent pink ruby crystal, the pink gem variety of the mineral corundum, with no matrix. The ruby crystal has complex surfaces composed of many smaller parallel crystal faces. One end has black internal inclusions. Fluoresces red under LW UV illumination. Weight: 7.83 carats.
Overall size: 10x8x8 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 10 mm
Price: $24 (plus shipping).
