Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81202:

Mineral Species: Sphalerite (lamellar twinned) with minor Calcite.
Location of origin: Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Cherokee County, Kansas.
Description: Lustrous brown-black sphalerite crystals to 34 mm with an 8 mm transparent yellow calcite crystal on the bottom edge. The sphalerite crystals are lamellar twinned, and have parallel crystallization patterns on the surfaces. No damage. Ex. Fratto collection #236; ex. Harry Sering (1924-2000).
Overall size: 5x5x4.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 3-34 mm
Price: $65 (plus shipping).
