Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81659:

Mineral Species: Elbaite var. Rubellite Tourmaline with facet-grade gem nodule.
Location of origin: Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande District, San Diego County, California.
Description: Lustrous transparent pink rubellite tourmaline crystal, the pink gem variety of elbaite tourmaline, with complex termination composed of parallel crystal faces from multiple crystals that merged. The bottom end shows a 4 mm facet-grade gem nodule. Though the crystals are clean and in good condition, a few show damage upon close inspection, but they are minor compared to the relative size of the specimen. Weight: 12.40 grams.
Overall size: 31x14x13 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 31 mm
Price: $150 (plus shipping).
