Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81678:

Mineral Species: Stibnite on Calcite.
Location of origin: Herja Mine (Kisbanya), Baia Mare, Maramures, Romania.
Description: Lustrous acicular gray-metallic stibnite crystals to 20 mm on matrix of translucent gray scalenohedral calcite crystals to 1 mm. The many stibnite crystals and high metallic luster makes this specimen very reflective. The specimen formed in a cavity with many crystals intersecting in all directions. Most crystals are complete except in areas where they intersected adjacent crystals in the cavity. Collected ca. 1994.
Overall size: 4.5x3x2.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 20 mm
Price: $34 (plus shipping).
