Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81703:

Mineral Species: Calcite (with internal phantom zone).
Location of origin: Linwood Mine, Buffalo, Scott County, Iowa.
Description: Large single crystal of transparent calcite with no matrix. The rhombic (broad, front) faces have a fine linear texture. The complex edge faces are highly lustrous and show the internal transparency with gray phantom zone of marcasite microcrystals. The crystal edges show minor chipping and wear. From my personal collection.
Overall size: 8x5x3x cm.
Size of individual crystals: 8 cm
Price: $475 net (plus shipping).
