Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82113:

Mineral Species: Spinel.
Location of origin: Mogok District, 115 km NNE of Mandalay, Mandalay Division, Myanmar (Burma).
Description: Cluster of several interconnected lustrous transparent-to-translucent pink-red spinel crystals with no attached matrix. The spinel crystals are octahedral form with naturally rounded edges. The specimen was extracted from solid rock, not from a cavity, resulting in minor surface imperfections where the surrounding matrix was removed. Fluoresces red under LW UV illumination. Weight: 1.5 grams. Ex. Miller collection T3992; ex. Betts #78982.
Overall size: 13x12x7 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 4-7 mm
Price: $45 (plus shipping).
