Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82182:

Mineral Species: Corundum var. Ruby.
Location of origin: Longido, Arusha, Tanzania.
Description: Lustrous translucent red ruby crystal, the red gem variety of the mineral corundum, with no matrix. The ruby crystal is tabular hexagonal form, has vivid pink-red color, with remnants of light-colored clay on the edges. Fluoresces red under LW UV illumination. Weight: 6.2 grams.
Overall size: 22x17x5 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 22 mm
Price: $80 (plus shipping).
