Mineral Species: Olmiite. Location of origin: N'Chwaning II Mine, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa. (Type Locality for Olmiite) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities. Description: Rounded cluster of lustrous translucent pink-beige olmiite crystals fully crystallized all around. On the bottom, where the olmiite crystals were attached, the radial internal structure is visible. Fluoresces deep-red under UV illumination. No damage. Ex. Miller collection T1694; acquired in 2012 from E. Greene.. Overall size: 25x20x15 mm. Size of individual crystals: 2-3 mm Price: $125 (plus shipping). |
