Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82701:

Mineral Species: Corundum var. Sapphire.
Location of origin: Central Highland Belt, near Ratnapura, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka.
Description: Lustrous transparent pinkish-gray sapphire crystal, the gem variety of the mineral species corundum. The sapphire crystal is tapered hexagonal crystal form, with striated crystallization patterns on the prism faces. Fluoresces red under LW UV. Weight: 1.47 carats. Ex. Miller collection T3142; ex. Betts #70010.
Overall size: 10x5x3 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 10 mm
