Locality:Herkimer County, New York
Description:Large Herkimer Diamond (doubly-terminated quartz crystal) collected over 100 years ago. This specimen has many imperfections, typical of the early specimens found at shallow depths where frost-damage fractured the crystals. Ex. Westtown School (West Chester, Pa.) Collection no. 6031, donated by Walter M. and Alfred B. Jones (1843-?).
