Mineral:Quartz var. Amethyst
Locality:Tafelkop, Goboboseb Mountains, 27 km west of Brandberg Mountain, Erongo region, Namibia
Description:Intergrown mixture of quartz and microcline crystals with a scepter-formation of amethyst quartz perched on the top of the specimen. The amethyst color is in zoned areas and is fairly intense. Old specimen ca. 1970.
