Mineral:Calcite and Quartz
Locality:Richmond, Chittenden County, Vermont
Description:Plate of colorless quartz crystals up to 25 mm with rhombic, white calcite crystals up to 18 mm. The calcite fluoresces orange under UV illumination. Unusual specimen for Vermont - possibly from a vein in a soapstone quarry.
