Mineral:Andradite Garnet with Quartz
Locality:Ocna de Fier, Banat Region, Romania
Description:Large specimen of red-brown andradite garnet crystals up to 9 mm with scattered crystals of quartz up to 16 mm with dark magnetite matrix. Very clean, no damage. Acquired in 1987 from H. Obodda. Magnetite indicative of Ocna de Fier, not nearby Dognecea. Ex. Dr. Eugene E. Sensel (1911-2000) collection #M457
