Description: | Lustrous translucent purple amethyst quartz pseudomorph after an 80 mm hexagonal aragonite crystal with minor tan calcite crystals to 8 mm. The aragonite formed first, then amethyst crystals to 20 mm grew on the surfaces, then the aragonite dissolved. Ex. Mel Pollinger collection #1653; originally acquired from Lambert Minerals |
