Locality:Balkhash Lake, near Preozersk, Karaganda Oblast, Kazakhstan
Description:Two doubly-terminated transparent purple amethyst quartz crystals to 16 mm on a thin plate of brown matrix with smaller colorless quartz crystals to 3 mm around the amethyst. The amethyst crystals have waxy luster and the purple color is zoned.
