Description: | Ore specimen of Franklin zinc ore with one face that was part of a vein lined with black crystals of augite, variety Jeffersonite. The augite was exposed when acidic groundwater dissolved naturally the calcite vein filling. Ex. A. Lincoln Sherk II, MD. (1896-1970) |
