Locality: | Tilly Foster Iron Mine, near Brewster, Putnam County, New York |
Description: | Translucent red-brown chondrodite matrix with cavities lined with chondrodite and green-brown titanite crystals. The cavities were filled with calcite, that has been dissolved away to expose the chondrodite and titanite. This old mine closed in 1895. Ex. A. Lincoln Sherk II, MD. (1896-1970) |
