Mineral:Almandine Garnet
Locality:Hedgehog Hill, Peru, Oxford County, Maine
Description:Several large almandine garnet crystals up to 4 cm in white albite matrix with silvery muscovite. The almandine crystals have a dark coating of manganese oxide but is dark red underneath where exposed. One of the few Maine specimens I am de-accessing.
