Mineral:Fluorite on Quartz with Calcite
Locality:Blanchard Mine, Hansonburg District, 8.5 km south of Bingham, Socorro County, New Mexico
Description:Large quartz plate covered with cubic fluorite crystals up to 12 mm with colorless calcite on one end (confirmed by XRD). The fluorite has deep color ranging from classic Blanchard-blue to purple(!) with no sign of fading. Minor imperfections in areas. Ex. Dr. Eugene E. Sensel (1911-2000) collection #BL71; ex. H. Windisch in 1971
