Description: | About 10 rounded silver-white metallic placer grains of rutheniridosmine (hexagonal Ir-Os-Ru alloys in which Ir is dominant). Specimen identified as Iridosmine, variety Nevyanskite. New nomenclature suggests this be grouped under the species iridium. Ex. John A. Rorer, Jr. collection #019; purchased in 1948 from A.E. Foote; collected ca. 1895 |
