Description:Circular concretion of metallic pyrite, commonly known as a Pyrite Sun. Many believe (incorrectly) that these are fossilized formation, but are actually concretions that form in the bedding planes of coal deposits. Ex. John A. Rorer, Jr. collection #063; Ex. Allison T. Hall Collection.
