Description: | Twinned crystals of black columbite-(Fe) with no matrix attached. The crystal is sharp, with smooth crystal faces. The crystals are twinned on the [010] plane, clearly visible running through the center. An excellent specimen with few imperfections. Ex. John A. Rorer, Jr. collection #135; Collected on a UVA Geology field trip in May 1949. |
